Canary wharf seen from the Downtown Pond
through a lovely curtain of catkins and silver birch bark

A lovely display of reeds at Downtown pond

Violet, Stave Hill Ecological Park
Just on the basis of my photographs it could be any one of three.
I need to go back for a better look. Life is so hard! :-)

Garlic Mustard
Alliaria petiolata
Brassiacaceae
Biennial

Named for the smell emanating from the leaves, when crushed.
Can be used for food flavourings and medicinal purposes.
Apparently if cows eat the leaves it taints the taste of the milk produced
One foodplant for the caterpillars of the Orange-tip butterfly which like to eat the seed pods
